Occasionally my clients need two different type of business headshot portraits, one which could be used for their company website or Linkedln and can be easily matched to other existing corporate headshots of other colleagues in other offices in London or the rest of the UK. Then a second portrait that doesn’t fall into the headshot bracket but can be used for magazine articles or other similar marketing purposes.

So I feel a business headshot should be both professional and at the same time show a bit of personality. When a client needs two different type of portraits then I always bring extra equipment (another Godox AD200 plus a umbrella) so I can easily set up two mini studios so each person can quickly move in-between the two lighting setups without any delay. This is also creates a consistency when doing a large volume of portraits throughout the morning or afternoon.

In this case, I took down a picture hanging in a meeting room and used the wall as a backdrop. I only lit the subject with a octa softbox and a reflector then on the second setup i put my Elinchrom umbrella with a diffuser on the meeting room table and feathered the light so it created a natural but flattering look.

Next steps…
